Colored Pencil Techniques

Students will learn both basic colored pencil techniques and adapting these techniques to work on various types of drawing board. Starting with an underlayer drawing, the blending of layers of color will give a painterly quality to the drawings. Students will learn about additional tools that will help achieve the desired effects to their drawing. We will start with a tutorial lesson, then students will work on their own drawings with the guidance of the instructor. Students should bring references and ideas for drawings they would like to create.

Students will have in-class access to a 24-color set of Prismacolor pencils, but can also bring in larger sets from home.
