Deborah Di Vita Glascott’s belief in individual potential led her to Water Street Studios, a place where exposure, experience and participation in creative expression serves the local community.

Deborah has been an Oil Painting instructor with WSS School of Art since its inception in 2009. Deborah’s teaching style derives from the principles of passion and personal vision. See her work here.


maureen stiebris, watercolor instructor

Maureen Stiebris earned a BFA at the University of Illinois and a Master’s Degree in Teaching from National-Louis University. As a certified art instructor, she has taught in both elementary and middle schools and enjoys teaching students of all ages.

Her watercolor paintings have been in group exhibits at Mayslake Peabody Mansion, Oak Park Art League, and other art venues. She loves the lively and expressive nature of watercolor painting, and is excited to share this amazing medium with students at Water Street Studios.

Lauren Peterson graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, studying with renowned instructors Irving Shapiro, Bill Parks, and Eugene Hall. After leaving the Academy, she continued her studies with Hall in his Rockford studio, assisting him with murals and conservation of damaged paintings while continuing to work in both the commercial and fine art fields, doing illustration, portraits, and other commissioned work. Lauren has exhibited widely, most recently at the Art Center of Highland Park, Park Art Center, the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Art and Elmhurst Art Museum. Her professional affiliations include memberships in Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, Portrait Society of America and numerous local arts organizations.
