Eye of the Beholder Garment Exhibition

  • water street studios 160 South Water Street Batavia, IL, 60510 United States (map)

Designers of all ages from Batavia to Chicago feature their garment-related artwork at this year’s upcoming Eye of the Beholder Garment Exhibition. Purchase tickets today to experience an installation of garments and related artwork that lure audiences into the many interpretations of this year’s exhibition theme, “Transparency”.

Eye of the Beholder is a juried 2D and 3D exhibit featuring various mediums with a concentration on wearable art. Fashion designer and this year’s curator, Andrea Reynders shares,

“Eye of the Beholder is an amazing opportunity for artists and designers to produce work related to garment. Fashion has become such an interesting area of the art scene, from street wear to couture, from religious habits to cultural costume, it has been recognized as a true art form. This year the theme is ‘Transparency’……. a word that can be interpreted in so many ways. It can be intimate, sheer, full of truth, sometimes beautifully ethereal, other times shocking.”

This year’s garment exhibition features the following artists, Morgan Donahue, Madelyn Schuster, Andria Burchett, Lisa Holzl, Gretchen Schreiber, Maureen Gasek, Sue and Katie Holzkopf, Michele Norman, Amanda Williams, Lisa Youngdahl, Emy Krauspe, Ellen Jo Ljung, Katherine Kratzer, Anke Loh, Claudia Canon, Dawn Zalkus, Victoria Belz, Ana Zanic, Patricia Davoust, and Madeline Jenkins.
