Water Street Studios welcomes the ClayMirth Group Show in the Dempsey Family Gallery and Tanya Lunina’s “Melancholy” exhibition in the Chicago Capital Gallery starting November 8, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.
ClayMirth is a group of friends and potters who came together at the Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles, IL. The group has shown throughout the Fox Valley area since 2001. ClayMirth’s artists work is diverse and ranges from sculptural pieces to functional art for everyday use.
Featured artists include Charmain Benton, Diane Breaker, Carol Dykstra, Mary Holat, Ellen Judson, Denise Karabowicz, Judy Karabowicz, Marcy Rogge, and Jay Walsh. This group of potters explores the versatility of ceramics in a stunning display of both sculptural and functional work.
Tanya Lunina grew up in Russia and moved to the United States in 2006. She been passionate about photography for over fifteen years. She works in film and digital media. Her goal for exhibiting Melancholy is to bring the beauty and aesthetics of the late fall to viewers. The grey gloomy days of November are often considered the least attractive season of the year. Through her images, she shows the opposite. “This season can be intriguing in its own way; we just have to look around,” says Lunina. For more information please visit www.tanyalunina.com.
